time, travel and other feets

I simply cannot believe that I've been back a week already - how quickly time flies! I'll be honest with you though, I'm not altogether here yet. It seems that I'm experiencing a bout of post Italy blues, with frequent spells of daydreaming and moments of prolonged inertia.

Before leaving I had anticipated catching the travel bug, as so many of you warned me, but who knew it would be this severe. So to remedy myself of this wish-washiness I'm systematically medicating my soul with large doses of family + friends, and indulging my senses in the healing practice of gardening (which incidentally is growing fabulously in our southern springtime).

As I learn to find my feet again, I'll slowly begin posting and sharing my travel photos of Italy with you. I'm still busy editing them and hope to have something to show here very soon. It's a small wonder that I still don't know where to begin with all of this. In the truest sense, I'll just have to take this journey one step at a time...

  4. Welcome back, Janine! I do understand how you feel – I always am a bit disoriented and in a strange limbo land when I return from a major trip. Coming back from our dream-come-true trip to Peru last autumn took me awhile to get back into the routine here. And if I'd spent six weeks in Italy –whew! Take your time and enjoy reliving it through your photos and we look forward to coming along for the journey here. xo – g

  7. Yay! You're back! So glad you had a fantastic time. I would totally be dragging myself around after a trip like that. I think it's always best to focus on how fortunate you are to have had such a wonderful experience - and in your case, you can also think of how lucky you are to live in an equally stunning and interesting place. As usual, nature is very healing, isn't it? Happy gardening and good times with your loved ones. Looking forward to seeing more of your lovely images from the trip. x
